Your Advocate - William A. Bonner
William Adair Bonner is in the general practice of law in Media, Pennsylvania. For decades, Mr. Bonner has dedicated his career to advising individuals, professionals, fiduciaries, non-profits, and families to navigate complex circumstances and prepare for the future.
Mr. Bonner is a life-long student of Constitutional law and public policy. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in History from Gettysburg College, Mr. Bonner served in the United States Army as a Drill Sergeant. He earned his juris doctor (J.D.) degree from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. He thereafter clerked for a Common Pleas Judge in Delaware County, before fully establishing his practice with his father Hugh Bonner, Esquire.
Mr. Bonner is admitted to the United States and Pennsylvania Supreme Courts. He is also admitted to and has litigated cases before the Third and Fourth (federal) Circuit Courts of Appeal, as well as the Eastern, Middle, and Western (federal) District Courts of Pennsylvania. Appearing pro hoc vice, he has litigated before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Mr. Bonner lectures on issues relating to Federal Constitutional Law, education, privacy, and Parents' Rights. He has created and presented Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses for Neumann University and also served on the board of The Wynnewood Institute. He additionally teaches law to non-lawyers in a variety of settings.
Mr. Bonner is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Delaware County Bar Association Real Estate Committee, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee, and the Christian Legal Society. He is also a member of the National Republican Lawyers Association.
Mr. Bonner is also a member of The Philadelphia Society and The Federalist Society. He formerly served on The Institute on Religion and Democracy UM Action Steering Committee for over 20 years. He is also a former member of The Union League of Philadelphia. Mr. Bonner provides legal services and advice to religious non-profits and individuals as an affiliate attorney to the Alliance Defending Freedom. He has litigated a broad spectrum of First Amendment religious speech cases in various Federal Courts. For six years, Mr. Bonner hosted a radio program in Metropolitan Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey entitled "It's Your Law: Legal Intelligence for Civic Engagement". Mr. Bonner founded The Brandywine Forum, which regularly holds discussions on current events and public policy. In prior years, he co-founded the National Education Consortium, a non-profit corporation concerned with issues relating to the protection of student privacy. He also co-founded The Rutherford Institute of Pennsylvania and previously served as Northeastern Regional Director of The Rutherford Institute International. Mr. Bonner previously served as Chairman of the Delaware County Leadership Breakfast for over 20 years, on the Metropolitan Philadelphia Board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and on the Board of the Booth (Salvation Army) Maternity Hospital.
In his spare time, Mr. Bonner enjoys reading and visiting museums. He formerly sang in the Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia and sang in the chorus of the Wilmington Opera.
